Read again Matthew 5:13-16
God is up to something. He’s doing something in your world and you are invited to play a role. Today meditate on the part that you could play in God’s unfolding plan of calling those in your world into his kingdom.
Sorry for the late post today. Our Internet was down!
When I see a question like this, I think about some of my closest friends and how I can be their "light" so to speak. I know that my behavior and character do not go unnoticed. So for now, I continue to try to live as Christ instructs me and pray for an opportunity for a deeper conversation.
I've read/heard these verses so many times, but only just recently have I been intentional about thinking WHERE God has placed me to be His light in this world. I've struggled with the choice of working or being a stay-at-home Mom. Growing up, my Mom was always home with us, so I thought, "that's what I'll do to". But there's never been a wide open door to tell me that it's the right choice. So where has God placed me? Leading a team of almost 100 at work...working in a building of about 300 people (i.e. no excuse to not really know most of them, or at least their names)...and working with clients and customers across the globe. My current manager team includes a Buddhist, one battling tongue cancer, a Catholic just finishing treatment of uterine cancer, one Christian (thank you, Jesus!) and another one who I don't even know enough about to label her! I have lots of opportunities placed before me; I need to start acting how Christ has asked us to act in order for Him to receive the glory.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like maybe you do know where God wants you to be. Staying home with your kids is something you would likely never regret, but in the mean time it would seem you have been placed in a fertile mission field.
